Awww Lisa!! This makes me so happy to be included in your little list of VIPs from Keele :P I’m definitely going to miss you too, despite my initial horror at the fact that you’d discovered my Tumblr haha.
These past 4 months have been rather special. For the first time, I lived away from home for an extended period of time. For the first time, I did not have the comfort of my family and friends to shield me. For the first time, I was placed in an unfamiliar country with a different set of customs. Yes, these are all virtually the same but you don’t realise how different they all seem until you’ve experienced it.
Today I finished my last exam at Keele. I am ready to go home but there is a small part that does not want all of this to end so fast. This is largely because many of the people I’ve met here will be gone tomorrow and so tonight was the last time I would have been able to see them. We’re all mostly North Americans so it is highly possible that we will meet again. However, when we are overseas the bond we create is based on our need to create a small group to rely on. Back home we will all have that go-to group already.
I will really miss the people and the memories. Keele has not really changed me but the experience has added more to my personality, self-awareness, and I suppose… worldliness? My marks have definitely suffered from the difference in learning atmosphere but I would not exchange good marks for this exchange. Ever.
There are so many people I want to take home with me and just keep them around forever but sadly, they all have lives ;P
Emily, Nicole, Miranda, Sarah, Cassidy, and Debbie: for the short amount of time that we were able to know each other, you have all made a very lasting impact. These memories will be hard to replace.
Mallory: I <3 U! For going on this exchange, for being smart and guiding me through it, for being a friend and listening to me rant.
For all of you, I just want to do this:
Okay, I usually don’t open my mouth about this stuff because…it’s the internet…it happens…whatever. But this person: hayaneackles is literally taking EVERYTHING I POST and posting it as their own, along with things made by a lot of other people I know. Don’t reblog this person! Their ask is disabled so I can’t even kindly ask them to stop. It’s frustrating even for someone who doesn’t usually get frustrated by this kind of Tumblr nonsense.
What a douche. They also took one of my photosets. Why go through all that effort to save all the individual photos/gifs, just to repost it again?
